Description:
Wikipedia: Orange agoseris or mountain dandelion is a species in the Asteraceae or sunflower family. It is widespread and common in western North America from Alaska and western Canada southward to California, Arizona, and New Mexico. It also occurs disjunctly in the Chic-Choc (Gaspe Peninsula) and Otish Mountains (Laurentian Plateau) of Quebec. It is a perennial herb producing a basal rosette of leaves. There is no stem, but it does produce several stem-like peduncles, each peduncle bearing a single flower head, containing ray florets but no disc florets.
Habitat:
This is primarily a species of mountainous regions and may be found in wet to dry habitats.

Co. Rd. 12 over Kebler Pass west of Crested Butte, CO - where this flower was seen.
