Habitat:

spotted on coquina rock face of reclaimed man-made canal in forest sanctuary

Thanks, Dan. It didn't exactly get me there, but my fumbling around with the Florida reference in your link I think led me to the ID.
Looks a bit like Bird's Nest Fern, but might be another species of Asplenium http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asplenium_nidus
