Field Notes

Description:

fuzzy, orange, marble size fruit growing in pairs at leaf axils
about 2' tall, perennial like

Habitat:

forest

Notes:

I spotted this along the Bruce Trail just after Mewburn Rd. I'm not sure if it's native but it was the first time I've seen this. There were only about 5 of these and they were in rough shape.

Maybe it could be, the fruits do look similar. Could very well be in the rose family with Medlar.
