The Danaid Eggfly (Hypolimnas misippus) is a strikingly beautiful butterfly commonly found in South India and Sri Lanka. The species is well known for mimicry and Polymorphism. The upperside of the wing of male is dark brownish black with fore wing having a pair of oblique white spot. The hind wings also carry a large white spot. The female is polymorphic and mimics the Plain Tiger in appearance
I think Hypolimnas bolina. But the Hypolimnas misippus male also look much similar.
