White shepherds are just leucistic GSDs. Why are the blacks the same when they're only melanistic? Both are recessive genes..

Your dog August is a White German Sheperd, and Buddy is a Labrador Retriever colored black. Note: White German Sheperd and German Sheperd are two different breeds of dog. =)))
