Field Notes

Description:

This Cyclosa sp. has assembled a very basic trashline, but I got the impression that it was a work in progress. More interestingly, the fabric of its web was so fine that I had great difficulty in seeing it. I assumed that I would be able to see it, better, in my photos by adjusting the "brightness and contrast" when preparing my them for uploading. That did not work out too well as the web just does not show in my pictures,

Habitat:

This spider was spotted in our backyard. Its web is positioned between the stems of two old banana plants. However, when I looked closely, I saw that the web was not moored to the banana stems. It was moored to the stems and leaves of unidentified vines which were climbing on the banana plants.

Notes:

Pic #1. is enlarged as much as possible, without making the result too "fuzzy". Pic #2. shows, pretty much, the complete trashline and Pic #3. is included just to show the unidentified vine and the general habitat.
