Field Notes

Description:

Large, upright, coarsely hairy plant, up to 10 feet tall, with broad umbel of white flowers.

Habitat:

Open conifer forest at mid-mountain elevation (about 3600 feet) in the northern Oregon Cascades. Wet soil on the shore of Trillium Lake, a 240-acre man-made lake on the south slopes of Mt. Hood.

Notes:

Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon.
