i think that it's a global problem,we us a individual people we also have the responsability of not contribute to this in same cases nasty propagation,so in ours gardens and farmes we must controle whith very carefull all the the not endemics species that we grow,it's a beginig like recicling the garbage,etc...
That has been a major problem in Brasil, too, Antonio. On the edge of Atlantic forest there are several small rural properties, mostly for leisure, where people grow exotic species of plants, for their beauty. Now, many of them are growing wild in the core of the forest. But chuchu is very nice, specially on shrimp stew.
in portugal we call it chuchu like the brasilien from where(i think)we bring it to europe,it's nor very used, mostely by diabectics people tradicionaly it´s the potatos(that came from south america to) and before that was the chestnuts, the world is allways mixing, the diference now its the speed of the changes and some transferences of wildlife from one place to another is very dangerous,we have n problems in portugal whith that, plants mostely thath dont have "predators"(not the rigth word) here and grow allover taking the place of the endemics species, big problem.
