Field Notes

Description:

This is an erect spiral heliconia with up to 5 or 6 bracts in best light and water conditions. It normally doesn't reach more than 5 feet high.

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest

Notes:

This is a local heliconia to Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Somehow they are able to withstand six months of no rain and come back to flower after a few months of rain.
