Thanks Uncle Minty, I'm grateful for your kind words. Snow Owls are incredible. I hope one day to spot one in the wild!
Good looking smiling face! beautiful bird.
Wow! My favorite bird of all time in all of its beauty and glory!
lovely series especially the 2nd one!!
Thank you for you for your lovely comment AmyHunter!
Insanely gorgeous. This photo brings me back to the first time I heard the whoing of the Snowy Owl, it was beautiful. Thank you so much for this great shot and letting me relive that moment from this.
@BrandonBlount. I know she is also in rehab, but I'm not sure what for. The birds of prey at Mountsberg are not released back into the wild. Sadly they are often taken in from people who thought they would make good pets...She sometimes shares her spacious enclosure with the male in my other spotting. I have also seen them separated.
Do you have any more info on her, whether or not she's also a rehab? I have found that rehabbing birds spend quite a bit of time with their mouths open as a warning of sorts, when handlers and other people are around.
I think she's laughing! I didn't catch her once with her beak closed.
The second picture is my favorite!!! "Why the HECK are you in my face with that camera!!!!!!" AHAHAHAHA she looks angry. ;-)
@ceherzog I don't think they typically do hang out on the ground...this bird is in a conservation centre where there are no predators.
What a neat owl and very nice photos. Do they typically hang out on the ground?
