Description:

16.5 inches long, distinctive very loud call.

Habitat:

East Texas Piney Woods.

Notes:

I see and hear a pair of these quite often, but they usually fly off when I get anywhere close. I have seen this one over the last few days, chipping away at a pine tree that has several dead branches.
