Welcome to Project Noah! Nice first spotting. The beautiful but smelly Elegant Stinkhorn. That brownish-green goo on the upper part of the fungus is spore mass. The smell (which is not unlike something rotten) attracts flies and the flies help spread the spores. These can often be found growing in mulch. My first spotting on PN was of this as well! http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/10773219
