Field Notes

Habitat:

forage around salt flats, lagoons, and human-made salt pans; can occasionally be found at freshwater ponds, but most of their foraging is in tidal environments

Notes:

Was with a Tri-colored Heron and a Yellow-crowned Night Heron fishing at low tide on the tip of Florida.
