Field Notes

Description:

A slate-grey dove, reaching some 30 cm in length, with diagnostic black patches on sides of neck; rusty-colored edges of secondary wing feathers (seen well on Photos N° 1 and 2) and purple eye-ring.

Habitat:

Dusky Turtle Dove is a dove of a limited distribution, and ios found in parts of East Africa and Arabian peninsula. Here, observed in two separate occasions but in the same spot - gardens of a hotel in Addis Ababa.
