Field Notes

Description:

A small pure white egg. I was amazed to find this egg while taking pictures of wildflowers. It seemed to be intact, though it had a couple of ants checking it out. Then I started getting dive bombed by an irate Tree swallow, which was still protecting the egg.

Habitat:

Spotted in a dry creek bed along the Umptanum road.
