I forgot the name my cousin told me, tnx for reminding me, sadly the bird wasn't in very good shape, feathers were all wet.
Brilliant closeup, this is a Black Currawong, Strepera fuliginosa, and is characterised by having a heavier bill than the Grey
Hi Veronica, based on the geographical location I would say this could be a black currawong or a grey currawong. Do you have more shots showing the wings? We have a Tasmania-based ranger, lori.tas, who I am sure will be able help further.
