Description:

Small ground-dwellers with reddish-brown upperparts, a white belly, and 1 white stripe bordered with black on each side of the body.
They live in burrows in the ground but are extremely good climbers like their squirrel cousins...
They eat seeds,nuts and berries....

Habitat:

Eastern Canada and United States.
Forests,woodlands, and residential areas..

Notes:

Often found as quests at backyard feeders
