Description:

This fish is common and used as a food source. It is usually caught in Florida using cast net or fishing with small hooks using dough balls.

Habitat:

Mangrove bay

Auntnance, I just assumed they do it out of the joy of being a fish...but, my friend noted that they turn sideways and flap the water as they return...maybe they're slapping off parasites. Thanks AtomicAnti
I did not think mullet could look beautiful, but this picture proved me wrong.
What great pictures. The river hasn't cleared up over here since the storms so they're hard to spot right now. On a related subject: do you know of any explaination why mullet randomly leap out of the water for no apparent reason? Been curious forver.
