I can't think of a reason why they were disappointed either, since it's a lovely flower and every time i see it when i go to mountains i admire how strong it is growing between those rocks all furry and simple! :)
I worked in an Alpine House where people were constantly asking to see Edelweiss, presumably because of that song. When I showed them, they nearly always seemed disappointed! It surprised me a little because I think it's rather lovely and unusual for an inflorescence to be so furry.
exactly! :) pretty nice, don't you think? :)
