Description:

Small understory shrub with opposite, palmate leaves. Looks superficially like a maple sapling, but the fruits are dark blue berries.

Habitat:

Understory of maple-oak forest.

This photo was taken the day before the snowstorm. But yes, most of the snow is gone. There's a little hanging on in shady spots, but not much.
