Description:

A small to medium sized member of the dog family. The red fox's winter coat is a beautiful rusty red above, white below, with black ears and legs and white-tipped tail. During the summer the coat is more ragged (see photo) and there are variations in coloring across the fox's range.

Habitat:

The red fox is widely distributed across many habitat types.

This fox was probably still losing its winter coat, which accounts for those really long patches of hair. Thanks Frank and animaisfotos for your kind words.
