Usually in groups of up to 20 birds; in localities gatherings of 800 or more birds; apparently nomadic; probably also seasonal migrations; occasionally found on feeding trees. They are restless and constantly on move; climbs quickly around in branches briefly before flying to next tree; conspicuous because of continuous screeching; feeds soon after sunrise; found during day in tall trees;
Habitat:
The long-tailed parakeet is the most common native parrot, and can be found in many parts of Singapore, from forests to parks and secondary scrub, wherever there are sufficient tall trees to serve as nesting and roosting sites
Notes:
I see this guys flying past almost everyday. However I decided to take a different route out of my Apartment through the gardens and to my amazement these Parakeets where all the trees, I probably counted about 20 of these birds. I think they are regular visitors to this tree so I will hopefully be uploading some better pictures in the future.
