Hi hmtrevi, this is a beautiful wasp! However, I think this may actually be a species of Paper Wasp, Genus Polistes: http://bugguide.net/node/view/572 Ophion luteus is a type of Ichneumon Wasp that has very long legs and antennae as well as a different body shape and coloration. From what I have read, Ophion luteus doesn't occur in the Americas. I think it is a European species. Here are a couple of images of that species: http://www.flickr.com/photos/55172280@N02/7764489140 http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ophion_luteus01.jpg http://www.arkive.org/ichneumon-wasp/ophion-luteus/#speciesFactFile
