Field Notes

Description:

Yellow, gray, black and white bird. The edges of the wing feathers are white which help differentiate the Cassin's from the Western.

Habitat:

Unknown tree along Lake Hodges trail

Notes:

This area only has the Cassin's over winter. The Western shows up during migration periods.

I wish I saw this one fly. It was quite content resting on the branch overlooking the lake.
I've had a lot of fun watching the Western Kingbirds this year. The bee population has increased and I've noticed the birds sitting up high to swoop down and get those bees. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7101367
