Thanks Cindy. I don't know what it's worth as research material, but I love animal architecture. I'm hoping this becomes a worldwide mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8082378
Cindy, I've started a mission, which I'm hoping they will make worldwide, but you can put this picture in it because you're within 300 miles. http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8082378
Haha... Cliff Swallow.... I too get them last week... will post later...
wow Cindy ! Very interesting!
Heather, it was my bad that I didn't specify the size when I posted it. Atul, thank you!
fantastic spotting definitely a swallow nest
I forgot to mention the size. They were about 16cm across but that's a guess since they were far above me. I agree with the swallow ID. Thank you all!
Definitely swallows - like these: http://textless.tumblr.com/post/2174102582. :)
Maybe, but notice the bird droppings around the area
I feel its housings of Mud Daubers...!!
Could be some swallows' nests. In Australia we have a related bird, called a tree martin, which builds nests similar to your spotting
