Description:

Female Shamrock Orb Weaver Spider (although I haven't seen in photos anything like this so hope I am correct.) Abdomen size is around 2.5 (1 inch) or a little more. With legs stretched out, more than 2 inches.

Habitat:

2 -3 acre meadow on our property

Repairing its web after the rain. My personal favorite too out of the 100 spiders in my meadow.
There seems to be a lot of variation in color and markings in the shamrock orb weavers.

Yours does look a lot like this shamrock orb weaver, also found in PA: http://bugguide.net/node/view/229751/bgimage. When in doubt for insects and spiders, I usually turn to bugguide. :)
