Description:
A female Neoscona vigilans spider.
This species is very common here in Sabah Tea Garden.
Some individuals may show pairs of white spots on their abdomen such as another individual in the last photo.
It is difficult to spot them in the day time but at night, they come out to build their webs. Most of the small webs are built on small plants.
Larger individuals build their web from the tree branch to the ground that can reach more than 1 meter.
The 2nd picture is a lot blur. It shows the spider crawling on my hand and my camera didn't focused well on it.
Habitat:
This one that I found lives between leaves in this plant during the day but comes out to it's web during the nights.
Notes:
Neoscana spiders are more difficult to be spotted during the day as they recollect their webs but these nocturnal spiders are seen abundantly during the night. I spotted this one early in the morning while it has not retreated back into it's shelter.
