Description:

Mushroom approx 4-5 inches high, sprouting with green slime on the top grooves that a variety of flies are swarming to eat.

Habitat:

Shaded mulchy area, suburban community.

Looks like a stinkhorn, probably Ravenel's Stinkhorn (Phallus ravenelii). Here's a spotting I had of them from late September - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7365735.
