Description:

These are very shy birds This one was strategizing on how to get to the bird feeder without being seen.

Habitat:

Spotted it in my backyard during a recent snowstorm.

This was our biggest snow event this winter in western Washington -- 12 inches in 2 or 3 days. We really don't get much snow here around Puget Sound and the coast. I usually only feed the birds during these snow events and had about 8 different species show up this time.
Handsome. How do all these tiny birds put those tiny feet into snow all day. My big fat feet wouldn't last 30 seconds.
