Trees hadn't leafed out fully, and this was also near a boardwalk very close to the Effigy Mounds visitor center. I love spring here. It's going to be a long winter.

I'm just getting on a plane for Iowa next Spring! So many fantastic plants. I always had these two pegged as growing in shadier looking locations than this. Is there a tree canopy yet to leaf out or is it a woodland clearing or the like?
