Description:

Arching grass-like leaves and pleasantly citrus scented flowers, around 5cm across. The refers to Because the flowers are usually slightly nodding, it is said that they can't hold they're heads up and gives them their Japanese common name Grandma & Grandad orchid!

Thanks Argybee! I was so thrilled to see these. It's interesting that you say they look so Japanese. These and other Japanese Cymbidium have been appreciated for centuries for their graceful but understated minimal elegance and their scent. There are wonderful depictions of alongside traditional calligraphy and they do seem to epitomise part of the essence of a very Japanese aesthetic!
