I watched this insect for ages first collecting water, then adding soil from the garden to then go and build capsules. I saw it place a green larvae in one of the capsules before sealing it with mud

Yes, I found a paper wasp nest and a potter wasp nest near the location of my wasp that you commented on. Wow, it looks the same yet we are a world away. Amazing!
Brilliant name! How apt! I would have put a picture of the finsished dwelling but it would have meant leaving out one of the other photos. I followed this wasp over a period of 3 hours and took far too many photos of each stage of the 'new build'. Incredible!
