Description:

Rainbow Trout have a pinkish band running length of their body, and a silver underside that fades to pearl white. There are small black spots on their back, fins, and tail. Trout are members of the salmon family and can grow very large ( anywhere between 10- 36 in). The average length is 16 inches. The largest one caught was 42 inches and weighed in about 48 pounds.

Habitat:

We found this particular trout in the Truckee River in Nevada. It lives in fresh running water. The water was very cold and very clear.
