Description:
Sharpshooters feed on a wide variety of plants & can rob the plants of important nutrients because they have piercing-sucking mouthparts, but they also have the ability to transmit infectious pathogens from plant to plant. Natural enemies include mantids, dragonflies, free roaming spiders & parasitic wasps in the genus Gonatocerus.
Habitat:
Open areas with herbaceous plants. Overwinters as an adult under leaf litter.
