I had seen this in the Lindsay museum and it is very deliteful to spot it in the wild after that!
They are beautiful birds! They sit in the trees and will swoop down and catch mice ect..
it did not look mean enough to be a bird of prey. Very fluffy and quail like.Looks like right wing was torn. it was flying okay though.
Great photo!! We have a lot of Red Tail Hawks here in Florida.
@ will Rountree and @ Aves John,thanks so much. I have seen so many red tailed hawks in this region that to find a red shouldered hawk literally took me by surprise!
