I think you could be correct Nuwan. I've just found this extract from WikiGenes - Hyptis "The acidic polysaccharide from the seed-coat mucilage of Hyptis suaveolens is a highly branched ............." Not particularly knowledgeable in this area, but seed-coat mucilage would describe the sticky coating

It looks like it is related to: Family, Lamiaceae, Hyptis sp. http://lrm.nt.gov.au/weeds2/find/hyptis#.UXUoVMpti5I I can find things close but not exactly like your photo. Good luck Viv!
