Field Notes

Description:

Medium-sized, with slightly forked tail. Dark brown with pale bases to primaries below. Upperparts dark brown with pale mid brown panel across inner wing. Length 48-58cm. Wingspan 130-155cm.

Habitat:

Summer visitor, winters in Africa. Breeds in forests near lakes, rivers or wetlands, also close to human settlements. Nests in trees.
