Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized, erect plant. Round stem with sparse hairs. Large oval leaves at base with leaves becoming smaller near the top. Single yellow flowers with rounded petals form from a long stem. Blooms do not open fully.

Habitat:

Suburban yard. Mostly shaded area.

Notes:

This is a fairly small plant compared to some of the others of this species I have seen.

I thought about that but the leaves don't seem to match the ones I have looked at. Thanks for the suggestion! The research will continue...
