White-breasted Nut Hatch

I don't think it's leucistic. This looks like a normal female WBNU to me. The angle is a bit odd, hiding her cap and making her look paler.

Agreed, leucism is often termed "partial albino", which is why I put it in brackets, just in case, cannot see enough detail to determine either way but there is a pink patch near the top of the leg, and also a darkish patch near the base of the bill.

It must (or could) be a case of Leucism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leucism, wich is often confused with albinism.

It could be a (partial) albino, which is around one bird in 5,000, on most species.

I think it is confusing because we cannot see the back and it throws us off.

The eye and beak look right for a nuthatch... the angle is odd though

very decieving ~ my thoughts lean not a Nuthatch like the White-breasted i've seen ~ the eye and beak are to big... some kind of wood boring pecker maybe ?
