Description:

Amaryllis is also known as the belladonna lily, the naked lady, or an amarillo. The genus has two species and the more famous of the two, Amaryllis belladonna, is a native of South Africa, particularly the rocky southwest region near the Cape (Wikipedia).

UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens South Africa Section, Berkeley, CA.

Spotted these beautiful flowers at the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens South Africa Section, Berkeley, CA. They are one of my favorite and have an amazing fragrance.

I have them planted in three locations in my front yard and they are slowing multiplying. I just love them!
I love these flowers. Mine have a way of taking over my small garden plot. So I dig them up every 3-4 years and divide them. Love the green leaves in the So. Cal winters.
