Field Notes

Description:

A diurnal moth, mostly velvety black with orange and bright blue stripes on the abdomen. The wings are mostly transparent.

Habitat:

In some bushes in an orange grove.

Notes:

Seems there are a couple synonyms:Bombiliodes jansonis and Autochloris jansonis. Not sure which is current.

Very interesting. It seems is mimetic on Eulaema orchid bees
