Description:

A tiny metalmark moth so named from the metallic scales which leave a distinct "mark" on the wings (as clearly seen in the above specimen). This group of moths occurs worldwide.

Habitat:

This spotting in a large semi-urban yard & garden adjacent to a disturbed patch of remnant forest.

Notes:

This is a very tiny moth. See 5th photo for a sense of scale. The first time I spotted this species is recorded here: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7262304

This moth is similar to, or may be C. metallica http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_daymoths/MetallicaMoth.htm
