Field Notes

Description:

Handsome bird with a long slightly forked tail. Black eye-mask stretching to the neck, black wings with small white spot. White crown, throat and face. Rufous sides. Short crossed beak.

Notes:

Spotted this LONG-TAILED SHRIKE, a migratory visitor, sitting on a railing at the Canal at Pasir Ris Farmway 3, Singapore. Stalked it to a very natural pose on the branches of a low tree, only to discover that my memory card was full. While deleting some unwanted shots to make some space, it flew to the other side of the canal. Game over!
