Field Notes

Description:

Small toad, approx 1" in length. Her dorsal side is a bright (almost neon) green, which tends to fade given certain surroundings. Her belly, which is the namesake of the species, is a bright fire-red.

Habitat:

Native to the Orient (Korea, northern China, & neighboring parts of Russia). Semi-aquatic toad, she requires an area to swim in, as well as a land area with adequate foliage to hide under. I currently have her & her boyfriend (a brown Bombina bombina) on a weekly diet of small crickets.
