Field Notes

Description:

These once used to be very common here in Arizona, but for some reason or another, they have vanished. Usually extremely tall and abnoxious as a weed, they are a good cause of allergies during the summer. It's odd that they disappeared, though.

Habitat:

Once found in great families and clusters in Tucson lawns and gardens, there are now very few (this one might be the only one in the block). They tend to grow where an abundance of water is present, i.e. irrigated areas within a home.
