Description:

Size of a goose. But long crazy neck and interesting patterns on feathers. We always see them drying themselves out next to the water, often perched on a log, piling or rock.

Shoreline

Notes:

Happened to see one swimming underwater one time as the sun was hitting the water just right. Interesting bird.
