Thank you, Cindy. That distinction between dragonflies and damselflies doesn't exist in portuguese, in Brazil they are all called libélula, in Portugal libelinhas.
This is a type of dragonfly, not damselfly. Damselflies are very slender and like to keep their wings back (unless it's a spreadwing family). Your other spotting, http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7782572 is definitely a type of damselfly. Notice the difference in the overall shape. Sorry I don't know the species.
