Description:
Wooly bears have 13 bands of stiff hair the bands are black on the outside and light brown in the middle. Wooly bears are usually 2-3 inches. Wooly bears shed six times each time they shed they grow bigger until they reach full size. Wooly bear caterpillars eat clover, herbs, grass, weeds, spinach, cabbage and the plants they were born on. During the winter wooly bears don’t eat, they hibernate. Threats to the wooly bear are parasites. Wooly bears turn into Isabella tiger moth.
