Boy I wish this was a little more in focus Phillip! Thanks!
I thought I would add that I went looking for one of these today and couldn't find one. I went to pick up my daughter at school and when I got in the car there was one sitting at the edge of the passenger window!!!
What a vibrant little damselfly! I love that red colour :) It's nice with the sun coming through the wings too, wonderful!
truly gorgeous! Thanks Cynthia! @ aunt nance...look at the other damselfly I put up today..the helicopter damselfly. After using your link I discovered that speciman is probably a hundred miles out of range!
I would have to agree with the "caja"--besides the wingtip dot, the shape of the 'rubyspot' matches. Glad you like the link --didn't want to deprive you of the fun of discovery.
Please put second picture to front... Thats very fine...
Nance is right... its a Damselfly...
Thanks aunt. It looks most like the "caja" to me because of the bright red spot on the tip. What do you think? According to the link I am out of the normal range for this Rubyspot by about 25 miles...and not even close to Monteverde. BTW, what a killer link. Thanks!
