Field Notes

Description:

Flat, oval shaped body with reddish-orange and black colouring.
Can be approx. 4 to 20mm in length.

Habitat:

Bushland, open forest.

Notes:

Spotted on Yuggera/Turrbal Country while out walking in the Seven Hills Bushland Reserve (4170), Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

I'm not really experienced in the identification of bugs, but this is my best guess at present. Happy to be corrected.

I was walking up to the Ridge Track when this little fella stopped me in my tracks. He let me get a snap before flying off. I saw maybe 3 or 4 more while I was out about about in different parts of the bushland.
